food business - food safety - infectious diseases
It is policy not to investigate single cases of food poisoning without a confirmed faecal specimen having been submitted to the Public Health Laboratory by either the Environmental Services Department or a General Practitioner.
Food poisoning is not normally caused by the most recently consumed meat, for example the symptoms of Salmonella and Campylobacter species, related illness take between one and ten days to become apparent.
